Medinilla

A magnificent plant which produces big, glossy, boldly veined leaves and show-stopping pendant flowers in spring and summer. It is native to the Philippines where it can be seen growing over 2 metres tall! When a flower drops another may grow from the same spot or the plant will grow a further set of leaves and sprout a new leaf between them.​

Growing Conditions:

Light: Bright but avoid direct sun.

Temperature and humidity: Warm, avoiding draughts and fluctuation. High humidity.

Feeding: Monthly.

Watering: Water when compost surface dry.

Propagation: Semi-ripe cuttings, air layering.
