Moss makes a beautiful top layer to the soil mix and perfect for the fittonia plant to sit between. Some terrariums are used just to house moss.

Fittonia - also called a Nerve Plant due to their contrasting veins on the leaves, these plants love the humidity and warmth of a terrarium setting.

Fern - both the Nephrolepis Exalta and Asparagus Fern enjoy the terrarium environment.

We recommend a base of soil mix with a surface angle getting on for 45 degrees. A level surface is fine, but an angle will give a slightly larger surface area and makes the beautiful moss carpet more of a feature. Long tweezers are recommended to place the plants and moss but due to the size of the opening it’s also easy to place these plants by hand.

The base of the moss can be trimmed off to create a thinner carpet, it can also be trimmed at an angle to raise one side of it if require. Moss doesn't have roots as such so it's fine cutting the brown underside. Placing the moss around the plants and over the roots will secure the plant.

When finished gently pour in water, the water should be absorbed by the soil leaving no pooling of water.

You have the option of adding an Atomiser/Mister and terrarium tools which can help with the care of your terrarium.
