This version of the popular ZZ Plant has gorgeous deep purple/black leaves. It is a very eays going plant, not a lot of care is needed to keep this one happy. This is a slow growing plant but the colour of these leaves is enough of a focal point to add to any room - add it to a bright coloured planter to really see the colours pop!
 
It will be happy in low light conditions, however growth will just be particularly slow. It will thrive in medium to bright indirect sunlight. Water when the spoil is completely dry, every couple of weeks in spring/summer and every month in winter is plenty. ZZ Plants have a tuber-like rhizome that stores water so it is particularly drought tolerant. During the winter it goes into a dormant stage like many plants so don't expect any new growth for a while. 
 
New leaves on this plant will start out a bright green but as they age they turn into the gorgeous black leaves that gives this plant its name.
